Synopsis:
In this time, mankind has moved to space with high expectations, now living on giant orbiting space colonies.
However, The United Earth Sphere Alliance, soon gains great military power and seizes one colony
after another for justice and peace.
As a rebellion, a group of revolutionaries build five robotic weapons called Gundams and plan to send them to
Earth, disguising them as meteorites. From there, they plan to begin their fight for independence.
These Gundams are piloted by five young men, who carry the hopes and dreams of freedom of
the colonists as they descend to Earth to begin their secret mission, Operation Meteor.
The Alliance headquarters, however, catches onto this operation and plans to stop one of the pilots,
who they happened to have spotted during his landing on Earth...

Probably one of the MOST popular Gundam series to date. Ever since it was aired on TV, I was hooked on it and I didn't even know why. I wasn't even into Gundams at the time! o_o But this show changed my whole perspective on mecha-based shows. For one thing, I actually liked the Gundams in this series and I still do, especially the main five, which is why I even bought the model kits. XD They have such a "likeable" and unique design that they even resemble the pilots who pilot them. XD But the main character designs and the characters themselves are what really made me fall for this anime. Each of the main characters' story, disnct traits, and personality were quite interesting that it's rare to find a gundam series with such diverse bishounen in the main line-up >_>.
The English dub is also very surprisingly well done. I think the casting of the main characters couldn't be better and they brought out their personalities so well that I would actually recommend the English dub for this series. In fact, the English dubbing actually added some extra humor to the series in certain scenes just by the way some things were said, and humor in a good way. XD The only thing about this series is that the animation can vary in quality from episode to episode. Sometimes it would be real detailed, then sometimes it might not be. But I don't blame them, this show was made in 1995 after all.
Some of the background music might be a little early 90's sounding, but it's tolerable. Other than that, the rest of the music and theme songs are very good, especially the
opening theme, it is very catchy and will be an instant favorite.
This series is really worth watching,
because you'll be hooked to the characters especially, the story, the gundams, and the whole feel of the show itself.
They just don't make Gundam shows like this anymore.
To miss this is to be missing one of the best Gundam series ever!
My Final Opinion:
Definately a very popular and well-known show! Even if you're not a Gundam fan, something in this series should appeal to you, and you'll be hooked in no time!
